Envirotech Maintenance is a privately owned company specialising in landscaping, grounds and property maintenance. Our mission is to provide excellent environments with minimal impact on the environment. As a company working in natural environments, we are highly aware of the significance of the protection of the environment. We recognize our activities have an impact on the environment in terms of waste generation, use of raw materials and emissions to air and water. Envirotech Maintenance recognizes the importance of environmental protection and is committed to operating its business responsibly and in compliance with all relevant regulation. We will strive to balance economic and operational requirements with our social responsibilities to minimise impact on the environment and surrounding communities. Envirotech Maintenance is committed to continual improvement and prevention of pollution.

In particular we undertake to :

  • Promote a culture of innovation and encourage employees to contribute to improving the company’s environmental performance
  • Promote the efficient use of energy, reduction of waste and recycling materials including from rubbish collection and workshop repairs
  • Encourage ethical environmental practice and behaviour
  • Implement an Environmental Management system and achieve compliance
  • Comply with environmental laws applicable to our business and meet or exceed all relevant statutory obligations and codes of practice to which we subscribe
  • Assess environmental risks and implement appropriate risk management programmes to continually improve environmental performance
  • Communicate this policy to all company personnel and take remedial action where performance does not meet expectation
  • Communicate this policy to all company personnel and clients through induction, education and training to promote environmental responsibility and obligation

Practical steps to minimize environmental damage include:

  • Protecting animals (e.g. birds, eggs, pets) from harm by noise, mowers, or other machinery
  • Protecting plants from damage (e.g. from ladders, work boots, wheels)
  • Putting appropriate measures in place to prevent pollutants from being discharged into water or onto land
  • Non-chemical cleaning of bridges, boardwalks, viewing platforms and staircases
  • Taking appropriate measures to prevent solid matter, contaminants, debris, oil, cement and other industrial pollutants from entering flowing or dry water courses, stormwater drainage systems or underground water sources. Protecting trees, native shrubbery, and desirable vegetation from damage (e.g. operators are trained in correct procedures for using mowers, trimmers, chain saws etc)
  • Recycling engine oil
  • Recycling cans, bottles – both from our own activities and litter collected in the course of our work
  • Source materials for contract with recyclable/minimal packaging that are biodegradable, and environmentally friendly

This policy is communicated to all employees, suppliers and sub- contractors and is also made available to the public. This policy will be reviewed annually.
