An ageing shared pathway in this popular West Auckland park required an upgrade, to make it safer and more user-friendly.
We replaced and widened the 2m path with a 3m-wide, 485m-long concrete path, added a 46m-long boardwalk, and installed drainage and a low retaining wall.
The boardwalk was constructed using recycled materials: 60% waste timber fibre and 30% High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic. This was to give it strength and durability, keeping it in good condition for years to come.
To finish the job and make the space appealing for users, we did remedial planting and installed three bench seats along the trail.
